This cape was my first project from BWOF magazine. The arm slits were pretty tricky - the instructions were very unhelpful so I ended up using a couple of online welt-pocket tutorials to give me an idea (a very vague idea) of what to do. I decided not to line the cape, since winters here are almost too warm for jackets anyway. Not lining it meant I had to make the reverse side of the welt look nice too, which was extra tricky.
Sara didn't like it at first. Where are the sleeves? But once she got used to it she wore it constantly, so now it looks like a pilly blanket!
All in all, it's not a terribly practical garment, but fun. And it gave me a chance to try 3 new things: a collar, a welt pocket opening, and my sewing machine's buttonhole stitch.
