We're halfway through birthday season: the time of year when we celebrate four birthdays in four weeks. The three girls were born within three weeks of each other, but thankfully not all in the same year. Great timing, huh?Grace's shirt announces her new age, in case she forgets. My husband downloaded some groovy 70's fonts a while ago. I think the number 6 is from the font "Shagadelic".
In the photos, you can see some of her new birthday treasures. She specifically requested this "Zhu Zhu Pet", a noisy, moving, brushable dog which I'd never heard of. How do kids know about all these things we don't? At her feet is a Playmobil piano which plays classical music. I have to say she loves her noisy toys more than I do.

Grace requested a zoo trip and hot dogs !?!? for her birthday. In case you didn't know already, Wednesday morning is the very best time to visit the zoo or to get 50c hot dogs at IKEA. I guess that's one perk of homeschooling.
Since many of you will never have the chance to visit the Minnesota Zoo, I'll leave with some photos.

She looks quite grown up there. Happy birthday! (I just realize Grace and my girl are almost the exact same age - my DD was supposed to be born February 13, 2006; in the end she came 6 1/2 weeks early, but still!)

ReplyDeleteI could not work out how to turn a zhu zhu pet off one day so I had to stick it out in the yard...too noisy for me.
I had to do that once with a carbon monoxide detector!
DeleteWow, this zoo is surprising, they even have little humans ! :D (however, last week, I was reading a history magazine with Chléa, and I learned that a Parisian zoo had exposed African humans in the 19th century along with elelphants and giraffes :( )

DeleteNow, that is a disturbing story, and sad. Somehow I doubt the humans on display thought it was such a great idea.
Re. the zhu-zhu pets (my kids love them, too) I was going to say "public school", but since you're homeschooling I really don't know. Apparently there's some kind of juvenile mind-meld happening.
ReplyDeleteThat is a totally groovy shirt, dude. Also, Syo requested Oreos for her birthday the year before last. Apparently she'd never had them. Ever. Who knew I had failed to allow my child to experience the great cultural icon of the Oreo.
Poor Syo. I hope she's feeling cultured now. I don't know if my kids would know Oreos, either, since if I've bought them, I gotten the cheap version which aren't called "Oreos".
