The Trifecta Top

I suppose you can find raglan t-shirts in the archives of most pattern companies - I even have a loose-fit self-drafted one I like pretty well.

But I was quite pleased* when testing Kitschy Coo's Trifecta Top. This red and grey baseball version was made straight out of the package, so to speak. I think the fit is perfect. It's shaped, not-too-tight and not-too-loose, and the shoulders fit well. The neckline is a nice compromise between scoop and crew.

For the purple version, I added a cowl neck and added 1" to the sleeves.

In case you're wondering, yes, that's real snow. We had a fresh snowstorm yesterday. However, I'm rebelling and planning a short-sleeve version of this top...

*"quite pleased" is Minnesotan for "I absolutely loved it!!!!"

  1. Great tops! The raglan one is right up your alley.
What a bonus that it fit almost right out of the envelope too!
and the snow.... it just needs to go already. I've moved on to sewing spring/summer without it.

  2. You're a good saleswoman. I think I'm going to have to get this pattern now. I have an affinity for baseball tees but I've yet to find a great raglan pattern. Love your first version!

    1. I hate to be an enabler....oh, wait, not really :) I love baseball tees, too. Plus they're great for larger scraps.

    1. Thanks, I love it! I shouldn't complain about the weather since I choose to live here :) After tomorrow's snow, maybe it'll be the end of it till next winter...

  4. It looks like you found the perfect raglan sleeve T pattern. The fit is perfect and that is a nice not to low, not too high scoop neckline. I like your cowl neck version too. Sew for warmer weather and it will come!

    1. Yeah, it's a nice fit. I didn't square shoulder it, either, for this pattern (but did for her princess seamed shirt).

  8. I agree that all pattern companies have raglan style but this is great because you could use it straight away. Love the neckline change for winter:)
